Built from publicly documented reverse-engineering of the Daktronics
All Sport 5000 RTD feed (not Daktronics' proprietary manual). Frame:
optional SYN(0x16) → SOH(0x01) → position code → STX(0x02) → data text →
EOT(0x04) → 2-char ASCII-hex checksum (mod-256 sum of SOH…EOT bytes) →
optional ETB(0x17). Field offsets match the commonly-referenced
Football layout (295-byte frame), including the "Time Outs Left -
Total" fields used for the timeout bars. If fields land one character
off, adjust POSITION_INDEX_ADJUST at the top of the
script. The ticker above shows raw bytes with control codes as
␖ SYN, ␁ SOH, ␂ STX, ␄ EOT, ␗ ETB.
