This is the first time I’ve ever ridden outdoors on a mint track in March! The track was groomed great, and there were some great changes on the track. Check it out…
…and then I go tumbling after my rear end gets kicked out and I can’t draw it back in. -1 Steering Stem.
This is probably the largest group of quads I’ve ever seen on the track at one time at the Sandbox Arena. Even though A/B and C were on the track together, it was a lot of fun passing and being passed.
Even more quads come out now, and the quad class is separated into Quad A/B and Quad C. Somewhere in this video, I break the rear spring on my PEP shock. I couldn’t tell at all, so I ended up completing the session.
After I broke my rear spring on my YFZ450, I gave the helmet cam to Andy, which gives us a final look of the Sandbox from this Sunday night.
Some of my friends join me for a fast ride at Burnsville ProKart.
If you haven’t checked out the track, I highly recommend it!
Our first race was pretty much just a warm-up, everybody getting used to the track. I’m in Kart 18 for this race. My best laptime was 21.279 on Lap 15. My fastest lap was averaging about 26.3 miles per hour. The Best lap time in our group was a 19.798.
The “crash that will live in infamy” occurs on the very first lap, around one of the corners. Watch the kart on the right virtually crash head-on into a wall. You can hear the thud over the noise of my motor.
Best Lap times in our group deviated only 1 second in the first 5 positions. Here I am in Kart 8 this time. My best laptime was 20.640 on Lap 11. My fastest lap was averaging about 27.1 miles per hour. The Best lap time in our group was a 19.950.
Our group is truly in our best form this time. The best Lap times in our group deviated only about 7 TENTHS of a second for the first 9 cars. I’m in Kart 8 again in this video. My best laptime was 20.383 on Lap 19. My fastest lap was averaging about 27.4 miles per hour. The Best lap time in our group was a 20.196.
In this race, someone else from our group takes my helmet cam for a ride. He keeps his head down a little more than I do, so you don’t get the greatest perspective in this video. I figured I’d upload it anyways since there are a few crashes. Watch for the birdy somewhere after the second crash. The guy was hot and got black flagged for that. It’s just for fun, guys.
The leader in our group was in the later 19 second range in this race.
A side-by-side Helmet Cam runthrough of Arkansaw Cycle Park. I’m on a YFZ450, my friend Dave is on a Honda 250 2-stroke
Just a few laps around Arkansaw Cycle Park on a perfect Saturday…
I set Robby Bethea up with my GoPro Helmet Cam for a freestyle practice session at The Compound.
I start out slowly, my first time on the newly designed track. Eventually I pick up speed. I was a little giddy when I first saw this clip. It’s awesome!
Here I am at basically my best speed of the day, although getting tired near the end of this session.
