This two-video compilation from “DaButcher” shows what it was like with a sport quad at Bauer’s Pit back in 2004. (These Videos courtesy of Shawn Buyatt)
This short video shows the sport scene at Tri-County ATV Park near Faribault, Minnesota around 2005 and 2006. These sand jumps would last for 10-20 hits, and then they’d have to be shoveled back up. Near the end, you can see me with the shovel taking my turn. It’s fun to look back at these gravel pit videos and see where we all started. These little 15 foot jumps were big business back then! This is the first time I’ve ever ridden outdoors on a mint track in March! The track was groomed great, and there were some great changes on the track. Check it out…
…and then I go tumbling after my rear end gets kicked out and I can’t draw it back in. -1 Steering Stem.
This is probably the largest group of quads I’ve ever seen on the track at one time at the Sandbox Arena. Even though A/B and C were on the track together, it was a lot of fun passing and being passed.
Even more quads come out now, and the quad class is separated into Quad A/B and Quad C. Somewhere in this video, I break the rear spring on my PEP shock. I couldn’t tell at all, so I ended up completing the session.
After I broke my rear spring on my YFZ450, I gave the helmet cam to Andy, which gives us a final look of the Sandbox from this Sunday night.
I start out slowly, my first time on the newly designed track. Eventually I pick up speed. I was a little giddy when I first saw this clip. It’s awesome!
Here I am at basically my best speed of the day, although getting tired near the end of this session.
