What a busy couple weeks! - Klier Productions

First, we headed to The Barn at Mirror Lake in Mondovi, Wisconsin to help a couple friends of ours celebrate their special day. Then, Bethany and I headed off for a day trip to Canal Park in Duluth to stop at our long-time favorite restaurant Bellisio’s for some great Italian food.

Then, this past week, we took a week’s vacation to San Diego and we saw and experienced A LOT! And every day the weather was 82 degrees and sunny! We went to Old Town, Pacific Beach (where we stayed), Seaport Village, Kansas City Barbeque (where the “Great Balls of Fire” scene in Top Gun was filmed), Coronado Island, the Navy Pier, went on a 2 hour cruise to both North and South San Diego Harbor, visited the San Diego Zoo, and then saw the sea lions at La Jolla Cove.

We then took our Mustang and headed out on the Pacific Coast Highway through Huntington Beach and Long Beach (and saw the Queen Mary), and then decided to head into Los Angeles! We went past Sony Pictures Studios, down Rodeo Drive, past the former CBS Television City building on Beverly Blvd., Capitol Records, and finally found ourselves at the end of old Route 66…at the famous Santa Monica Pier! As you can see, we hopped on the Ferris Wheel so we could look at the expanse of Santa Monica Beach. After a long days’ drive, we were happy to be back on our own beach!

We then spent a total of 12 hours on Pacific Beach in two days, had plenty of sun, plenty of music to listen to, and plenty of people to watch. We stopped at The Fish Market on Tuna Harbor Pier for dinner on beach day #1, and I had an absolutely out-of-this-world Halibut, and Bethany had a delicious parmesan-crusted Alaskan Sanddabs. That evening we delighted in a perfect sunset on the pier. I delivered pizza on the beach for the two of us along with some wine to enjoy on our last full day.
